Lauren Yates LLB

Educated at Northcote College on Auckland's North Shore, Lauren spent her spare time in various dance classes. Graduating from College in 2014, she began an undergraduate degree in Dance studies at the University of Auckland, but after a year decided that Law offered opportunities to improve life for people who have little reason to dance. Moving to Wellington, Lauren studied Law at Victoria University, working part-time (at Weta Workshop, then Wellington Zoo) and living the Wellington student lifestyle.

Armed with an LLB, lauren joined the team at WLC Brierley, working as a legal assistant for Peter and gaining a good grounding in various matters - property and relationship law in particular.

In her spare time, Lauren carries on the work she started as a student, volunteering as as kaiāwhina at Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley and assisting the fundraising and communications manager at Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP, which involves writing up a weekly Monday mindfulness post for HELP's social media platform and volunteering at events.

Lauren is a podcast aficionado, avid reader and journal-er, terrible knitter and passionate weekend brunch-er.
